Thermador

In 1916, Thermador invented the first wall-mounted oven and hob. 10 years later, they introduced stainless steel appliances to the market. And by 1948, they had developed the first “Pro Range” for use in homes – which was modeled after commercial restaurant equipment.

In 1952, they launched warming drawers (a kitchen appliance that keeps food warm) for domestic use; and 11 years after that, they presented the world’s first self-cleaning oven in 1963.

Thermador is a subsidiary of BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, the world’s second largest home appliance manufacturer. The Thermador brand specializes in kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, hobs, refrigerators and dishwashers.

In 1976, Thermador debuted the first-ever “Speedcooking” oven. This speciality ovenspeed up the cooking process by 35 percent in comparison to classic ovens. The brand was bought out in 1998 by BSH (Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte), which was originally a Bosch-Siemens joint venture but is now solely owned by Bosch since 2015.
